Stories: 3

Perched above Conifer, CO this theoretical project used the 30 degree site to embed 3 distinct program blocks into the hill side and reveal the valley beyond from the interior spaces

The two flanking programs house master suites distinguished by sloped roofs and connected to the main level kitchen and living by fully glazed hallways. These glass bridges lead back to the main living space that opens to the valley below. The middle design takes its cues more from the Mountain Modern architecture with exposed beams in a vaulted ceiling, a large walk out deck, and double sided fireplace. The lower level living space integrates an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub

This theoretical project took the challenges of mountain climate regions and responded with highly insulated walls, radiant heated floors, and minimal conditioning and passive cooling. Wildlife were also a concern so all exterior materials were designed to certain fire ratings in addition to being attractive. The final concept of this project serves as a jumping off point for future luxurious, efficient, and safe mountain homes
