North Park Hill Addition
Our clients came to us with a small brick bungalow, a growing family, and goals of expanding their existing residence into a home they can grow into. We were tasked with taking a 1950's bungalow classic of 750 SF on the main floor, and conceptualizing how to best expand on to this large 6250 SF, double Denver lot. After various iterations, a simple, but modest rear addition was chosen, adding 607 SF, nearly doubling the size of the existing home. The addition adds a dedicated master suite, and a laundry facility, mud room, and best of all, a large living/family room connected to a large, outdoor patio with great south-eastern exposure leading into a large backyard perfect for those long summer evenings!
With the existing bungalow being brick construction, the rear addition allowed for the exposure and treatment of the existing rear brick wall, thus, providing for magnificent open existing brick wall in the main living area. Openings in this existing brick wall were carefully located to allow for front to back sight lines, as one enters the existing home, views through the house and into the rear yard can be appreciated.
This addition is currently under construction, and delivery is anticipated for mid-summer, just in time for those summer evenings out on the pack patio!
