Overview

This project was brought to us by a client looking to breathe new life into the original 1922 brick bungalow. Working within the confines of the original structure, the original brick was exposed and given new white oak flooring. A new exposed timber beam gives the space an urban loft feel. The open concept plan allows residents to easily circulate between the living, kitchen, and dining spaces.

​The plan includes a flex space (shown as an office) and the original fireplace was cleaned and preserved, blending past and present finishes.

The remodeled kitchen features an island complete with range, hood, and bar seating. It is accented by the mosaic back splash tiles, white quartz counter tops, and dark cabinetry. The living room space includes a feature wall of the original brick, as well as an exposed wood post and beam. The interior post and beam detail is echoed outside in the front porch supports and details.

Locally sourced reclaimed Colorado Blue Pine Beetle-Kill lumber is used for the porch ceiling. The updated front facade is a modern take on the original house, with a stucco finish to contrast the wood and metal details of the porch.
