Originally from Spain, Maria Jose’s professional journey began in education, with a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Zaragoza, a degree in Psychology from UNED, and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Management. After several years working in schools across Spain, she arrived in Denver through a cultural exchange program, planning to stay for three years—but Colorado’s sunshine, lifestyle, and love had other plans. Eleven years later, she’s proud to call Denver home.

Her lifelong passion for photography and design eventually led her to pursue a Master’s in Interior Design from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2020, and to specialize in architectural photography. For the past eight years, Maria Jose has collaborated with Bonsai Design + Build, capturing the soul of each project through her lens. With a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for thoughtful design, she brings each space to life, from concept to completion.

Outside of work, Maria Jose is an avid traveler and former flight attendant, always chasing new landscapes and cultures. She treasures every chance to visit her family in Spain, enjoys camping and hiking under Colorado’s endless skies, and believes that any good day starts with a great cup of coffee.
