Our approach to design and building, much like the ancient Japanese art of Bonsai, is a holistic one

PHILOSOPHY

BONSAI is an architecture firm focusing on high performance, sustainable residential and commercial design. We are also a general contractor who specializes in residential construction. We currently hold architectural registration in the state of Colorado, and a residential contractor’s license in the City and County of Denver, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Arvada, Greenwood Village and Jefferson County. We are fully insured with professional Errors and Omissions and General Liability coverage for both of our design and build practices.

Our passion and mantra is high performance design and construction. We believe that one of the most effective ways to create sustainable architecture is to breathe new life into an existing structure. As such, we have vast experience in remodels, retrofits, restorations and renovations of historic and existing structures. Our knowledge doesn’t stop there, as we also have a large portfolio of new design and construction in additions, single family, duplexes, town homes and multi-family.

We look at each project as an opportunity to solve problems. This could be by creating something beautiful out of what may otherwise have been discarded, or cultivating a new vision. We look at the overall process, a complicated yet subtle journey. Only then, a building arises based on the aesthetic of its function and performance. Like the ancient art of Bonsai, architecture is the product of painstaking hard work, patience, and ingenuity
