Living Observatory

Overview

This new single family house in the wash park neighborhood of Denver will be an example of Bonsai’s continued dedication to high performing residential buildings. At nearly 5000 SF, the Wash Park Passive House will be heated by in floor radiant piping, and backed up by a supplemental minisplit heating and cooling system. The building form is meant to maximize daylighting in necessary areas and minimize complex connections that can create thermal bridging and air leakage. In order to offset the energy consumption of the home, a full rooftop solar array and large living greenroof have been designed.
